Best Things to do if You're Single this Valentine's

Felicia PohFelicia Poh

We all know what it's like to be single on International Singles Awareness Day.

But being single isn't a bad thing! Who says you can't have some fun too? 😉

To celebrate this day, we've put together a list of things that you can do this Valentine's so you can have your fill of the fun times, too. Grab your bestie, heck - grab your entire squad - let's go!

1. Dance your heart out!

Where: Glebe Cost: From $16 Dancing to freedom

Nothing says 'single and ready to mingle' more than a night out on town dancing to your heart's content! Best of all, there's no one gonna be breathing down your neck about what time you need to be home, or asking you every other minute what you're up to.
If you've been to a party or wedding and seen couples twirling across the dance floor and thought, "That looks awesome! But I can't dance". Well, now you can.

This dance-off gives you everything you need to know so that you can quickly bluff your way into dancing like a pro. Wear something comfy, and let's get into the groove! You can bring your bestie along, or come here and meet new faces. Who knows? You might just meet your next Valentine's date here!

2. Make a gorgeous, original Valentine's memento

Where: Potts Point Cost: From $27

Who says you can't write your own Valentine's card?

This Valentine's memento session comes all prepared with materials, inks, papers, polymer clay, embroidery... You name it, they've got it. All you need to do is rock up with your most creative side and get crafting! Make a heart for someone that needs a bit of a pick-me-up, for someone you admire, or for yourself!

This crafty session will get your moods soaring on the creative side and before you know it, you'll have forgotten all about the fact that you're alone this Valentine's.

3. Attend an Anti-Valentine's Day Party

Where: 395 Oxford Street, Paddington Cost: $12

Calling all them 'SINGLE LADIES!

"Valentine's Day is overrated". If that sounds like you, then this is the party to go to. For one night only, No Lights, No Lycra is hosting a massive anti-Valentine's Day party so you can dance off the blues of this dreaded day.

All the best better-off-alone tunes will be on repeat, so if you'd like, bring your bestie - or your entire squad - and go nuts on the dance floor!

4. Stand-Up-Paddling x Yoga

Where: Rockingham Cost: From $45 Stand Up Paddle Yoga

Everyone knows SUP is the latest trend in town... Now how about SUP and yoga?

If you're just looking for the activity to completely zen out this Valentine's, we got your back sister. This SUP yoga serves as an amazing workout for your core, is incredibly calming - with the sensation of floating - and will help you focus on your breath with the sound of the gentle lapping of the water. It's empowering and fun, and if you're looking for just the activity to unwind, then this is totes for you!

5. Shout out to my axe!

Where: Surry Hills Cost: From $160 Throwing axes at exes

Alright, maybe you've just had a messy break up. Maybe things didn't end as well as you would have liked. Well, time to take all that frustration out in this kick-ass activity. Channel all that negative energy into an intense session of axe-throwing. Trust me - you'll never be the same again. And how about a couple of beers to wash down any remaining bitterness?

So, go on, scream 'SHOUT OUT TO MY EX' as you hurl those axes.

And if you're mending a broken heart, I've got just the treat sheet for you...

love and sparklers
